It is a good initiative taken by state government. We should appreciate it. As Mumbai is a kind of IT Hub ,infact lots of IT works / Services are outsourcing to world ,so many firm work in night shift. Now it didn't show much changes or development but after sometime it will show its positive impact . This initiative require sometime and strategies to boom. Can a student grab the highest placement of his college in the CS branch even if he/she doesn't know any programming language or any other concepts related to computers at the time of joining (1st year)?-query17

If you want highest package ,you must have good programming / coding skills , because always there is great demand of Developer as compared to other profiles like testing, databases handler , Consultant , service associate , designer etc. And it's normal in first year that most of students approx 90–95% don't know ABC of coding or programming , after that you learn everything from basics like C or C++ programming. This is your learning stage you have lots of time. But aim will be simple that you should have good coding skills at the end of your academics either you learn by theory or practicals in lab or by external sources like private training institutes ,it doesn't matters. Matter is that you should know programming in deep learning and practical on any languages like python ,java, R languages, C++, etc many languages are there .
